Edited to provide more information: This was right after the March 11th Earthquake in 2011. A lot of people had similar experiences. I managed to catch the bus half way home. When I got to the station there were thousands of people at the station. All the nearby buildings were all evacuated. Everyone was on the street. Having no money & no idea of the extent of the damage etc, I decided to try find an ATM. I walked from station to station trying to find a working one. Still not knowing what had really happened I went to the ENT clinic. They also didn't know the extent of what had happened, as they were still operating. At that point I really wished I knew more Japanese so I could ask. Still having no idea, I thought the trains should be up and running again, but it was starting to get dark. It was freezing. My phone was running out of battery, I was stuck and didn't know how to get home. All I could do was ask people for directions to the next station, an
After seeing "Kakerlaken Poker" or in Japanese "ゴキブリポカー" (Gokiburi Poker) appear as a top 10 on a lot of Japanese board gaming catalogs, I decided to check out what the hype was all about. So I picked up a copy of the Japanese version (luckily the cards had no language specific text) and once I opened the box, I was immediately hooked by the colourful and amazingly cute artwork. This cute little Take That style game by Jacques Zeimet has been my go to game for the month. You can print out a Tuckbox from BGG which allows you to fit this game into your pocket, literally. There's a different image on each of the 64 cards, no 2 cockroaches are exactly alike, which makes the game higher on my Gaming list. The artist who designed the FANTASTIC art is Rolf Vogt (yes, I was so interested in who did the art, I looked it up on BGG). If you hated creepy crawlies before, this game might make you rethink those pre-conceptions. "Awh, isn't that cockroac
Waoh waoh waoh... I've been eagerly waiting for the wonderful game Guilds of Cadwallon to appear on my doorstep because a fair amount of people had received theres. Then I decided to check their website to see how many people were receiving their games and...woe... People were talking about receiving their games in Oz, and all around the world, and usually it takes about 8 days to get to Japan, usually before Oz mail...so I dug a bit further down the comments and...read about a "pledge manager"...I thought "oh! you mean the kickstarter pledge survey", read a bit more and oh no, people were talking about an online form...checked my mail and lo and behold in the spam...was a mail... What I didn't realize, even though I had filled out the kickstarter survey on Jan 9th...(it's now May 10th), was that they were using a Online Pledge Manager, that was external from kickstarter. So I quickly filled it out and sent of an email to coolminiornot, as well
